COMPLIANCE CONVERSATIONS Chaos in Grants: Navigating the New Administration’s Funding Freezes and Executive Orders Presented by Phillip A. Escoriaza, Esq. Feldesman Leifer, and Paula Heller, Cherry Bekaert
On Wednesday, January 29, the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued a new memorandum M-25-14 that rescinded the pause to federal funding contemplated in a previous memorandum first issued on January 27. Now there is uncertainty in the grants landscape. What will happen in the future to your grants portfolio? Can awarded grants be legally terminated? Does the President have authority to remove funding that has already been obligated by Congress? What actions should you be taking to evaluate and mitigate risk? Find out the answers to these critical questions in this webinar. Objectives:
- Explore the current legal landscape with a focus on the impact on current grants portfolios.
- Discuss current actions that grants managers and leadership should engage in for strategic planning.
- Evaluate the potential impact on ARPA/SLFR funding and the forecast for future funding opportunities.
