Infrastructure Funding Information

Infrastructure Funding Facts and Resources

In late 2021, the U.S. government passed the largest infrastructure spending bill in its history. The $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), commonly known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), aims to provide a once-in-a-generation investment in the nation’s infrastructure. BIL aims to:

  • rebuild America’s roads, bridges and rails;
  • expand access to clean drinking water;
  • expand broadband coverage throughout the nation;
  • prepare infrastructure for impacts from climate crisis, cyber attacks and extreme weather;
  • make improvements to ports, airports, rails and roads to strengthen the supply chain; and
  • create new jobs to grow the economy.
