What Grants Managers Need to Know about the Evidence-Based Policy Making Act Presented by Justin Baer, PhD, Fors Marsh Group
In 2018, Congress passed the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act (“Evidence Act”) with bipartisan support. The Evidence Act has wide-ranging implications for how agencies collect and analyze data about federal programs, including formula and competitive grant programs. This session will describe the main objectives and goals of the legislation, how it relates to other similar requirements (e.g., GPRA), and what grants managers should expect as agencies fully implement their evidence-building agendas. Learning Objectives:
-
Review the key features and objectives of the Evidence Act
-
Locate the Evidence Act within other federal initiatives to measure program performance and impact
-
Describe how agency implementation of the Evidence Act may affect grants managers
