Marketing & Design Associate

Location: Sterling, Virginia (Remote Opportunity)

The National Grants Management Association is an internationally recognized credentialing agency, certifying grants managers in content expertise. NGMA is also a membership organization, providing benefits and services to highly specialized, full-lifecycle federal grant managers.

The right person for this position is someone who loves to create! NGMA’s Marketing & Design Associate has the important and exciting responsibility of managing all digital and print materials that are communicated to our community throughout the year. Reporting to the Senior Communications Manager, NGMA’s Marketing & Design Associate role is largely focused on graphic design and website management, bringing your background in communications and marketing to improve and enhance NGMA's materials!

NGMA is a remote organization, based out of Sterling, VA. Applicants must live within 45 miles of Washington, DC and be able to work full-time from their home and regularly travel to meetings in the MD/VA/DC area.


  • Maintain and update the NGMA website daily with new content, updated event details, promotions, and new materials (Memberclicks)
  • Responsible for maintaining an engaging and audience-centric website front page and main menu by working with other staff to highlight special news, members, and events
  • Responsible for creating NGMA's internal and external digital and print collateral, typically in the form of brochures, flyers, jpgs, programs, PDF documents, and powerpoints (InDesign & Illustrator)
  • Alongside NGMA's Senior Communications Manager, work to refine and refresh NGMA’s branding through the use of engaging and attractive designs
  • Responsible for developing and executing weekly organizational newsletters, event invites and reminders to members and chapters, and other external communications
  • As the final set of eyes on all external communications, this position has a key role in editing all materials and webpages for typos, layout, and general brand-alignment; Write and edit basic/fun/engaging content
  • Post daily (Hootsuite) on all of NGMA’s social media platforms, with most content provided by other staff


  • A high level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), and Google Analytics
  • Experience with Memberclicks or similar website management system
  • Strong written communication skills, excellent editing and grammar proficiency
  • Positive, entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to seek new and creative solutions to challenges
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously with precision and attention to detail while continually finding ways to improve processes to produce higher quality events with more effective results
  • Possess a positive, can-do, collaborative attitude
